A “greens” habit that takes less than a minute can still spark big questions: What am I actually getting from my food? How do I cut through all the wellness noise? And what’s a simple step I can repeat every day? Listen in as Shelly shares one addition she's made to her personal wellness routine after spending the last year or two learning about it: moringa.

Moringa often shows up in searches for the most nutritious plant, and Shelly breaks down why it’s earned that reputation. We talk through the standout claims around moringa nutrition, including 92 nutrients, 46 antioxidants, and 36 anti-inflammatory properties, plus amino acids including nine essential amino acids. She also shares why this matters even more when today’s food supply is so depleted in nutritional value.

From there, she takes us through benefits research is exploring with organic moringa: mental clarity, digestion support, endurance and energy, immune system strength, mood support, and interest areas like blood sugar and blood pressure. Shelly also emphasizes that she is not a doctor, supplements aren’t a replacement for prescribed medication, and pregnant or nursing moms should get medical guidance. Finally, she shares exactly how she takes moringa each morning, what “pure and potent” means and how you can reach out if you want details on the product Shelly is using.

A Quick Greens Habit Teaser

It is a fantastic way to ensure you're getting so many nutrients, like I mentioned, 92. And it also is a great way to ensure that you're getting some of your daily greens. Now it's not your complete serving of greens, but it definitely helps with that. And that's another big reason why I consume it as well. Do you get confused by all of the information that bombards us every day on ways to improve our overall health and our overall wellness? Do you often feel stuck, unmotivated, or struggle to reach your wellness goals? Do you have questions as to what exercises you should be doing, what foods you should or shouldn't be eating? How to improve your overall emotional and mental well-being? Hello everyone. I am so excited to welcome you to Words of Wellness. My name is Shelley Jeffries, and I will be your host. My goal is to answer these questions and so much more. To share tips, education, and inspiration around all of the components of wellness through solo and guest episodes. With 35 plus years as a health and wellness professional, a retired college professor, a speaker, and a multi-passionate entrepreneur, I certainly have lots to share. However, my biggest goal and inspiration in doing this podcast is to share the wellness stories of others with you. To bring in guests who can share their journey so that we can all learn together while making an impact on the health, the wellness, and lives of all of you, our listeners. The ultimate hope is that you leave today with even just one nugget that can enhance the quality of your life, and that you will, we all will, now and into the future, live our best quality of lives full of energy, happiness, and joy. Now let's dive into our message for today. Hello everyone, and welcome back to Words of Wellness. This is our Shelly's Shares episode. And I am going to jump right in and share with you all about something that I have started incorporating into my personal wellness routine. And it is something that I have been learning about for the past probably year or two. Prior to a couple years ago, I knew nothing about this particular product. How many of you know about Moringa? Have you tried it? Do you use it? What do you know? I have to tell you that over the course of learning about this plant, and uh honestly, if you if you Google or look up what is the most nutritious plant, moringa is probably what's going to show up because can I tell you there are so many benefits to this, and I just wanted to share with everyone some of the benefits to taking this moringa product. Now, I personally have been getting up first thing, and I have a packet. It's a powder that I mix with water, and the particular type of meringa that I am consuming is actually one of the purest forms currently on the market because many of the moringa powders out there just use the leaf to make the powder. But what I am consuming, it's not just the leaf, but it also includes the seed of the plant and the fruit of the plant. So it's very, very potent and very pure. And I am loving it so far. And I wanted to just share just this is just unbelievable, some of the nutritional benefits that you can gain from consuming moringa. And just to give you an idea, there are 92 nutrients in this plant. 92 nutrients, and it also contains 46 antioxidants. It has 36 anti-inflammatories. So I know, well, I shouldn't say I know, but most of you probably know that inflammation is one of the leading causes to illness and disease. So whatever we can do to keep inflammation down in the bodies, we want to do that. So moringa contains 36 anti-inflammatory properties. Also, it contains amino acids and it contains nine of the essential amino acids, and that's just huge. So when we look at the overall nutritional value, wait for this. This is amazing. This is blows my mind. When you consume a serving of moringa, you're getting twice the amount of protein that you gain from eating a carton of yogurt. You will gain three times the potassium of what you gain from bananas. You'll gain four times the calcium that's in milk, four times the vitamin A that is in carrots, and seven times the vitamin C that is in oranges. Now, here is what's really important about this. Not only are these values remarkable, but when we think about what we are consuming on a day-to-day basis, nowadays the food supply is so very depleted when it comes to its nutritional value. So when we can do something as simple as mixing a little bit of a powder product with some water that's going to provide all of this nutritional value to us, that's pretty incredible. And I don't know about all of you, but that's something that I want to incorporate. And that's what I'm doing now. I'm I'm consuming this every day. And again, if you'd like to have more information or know about the type that I'm consuming, please feel free to reach out. You can always reach out to me over Instagram at WellnesswithShelly J or at Moms Who Flourish. And I'm happy to share with you what I've been using and consuming. But when you think about all of this, this high, high nutritional value, some of the benefits from consuming the organic moringa, which is what I consume. It's an organic form. You gain more increased mental clarity. It can help normalize blood sugar. So how incredible is that it helped normalizes blood sugar. It can help with wound healing. It can help with digestion. It improves digestion. It actually can even be benefit, beneficial for pregnant and nursing moms. Now, again, I'm not a doctor, so if you are a pregnant or nursing mom, you definitely want to get your doctor's approval on this, but it can be beneficial for all stages of life. It actually also is an antioxidant. It's an anti-inflammatory, which I mentioned. It can actually possibly help with hair growth and your skin health. Also, anti-cholesterol. Now, when we talk about cholesterol, a little bit of cholesterol is is okay. And we're learning more and more that depending on a person's values and their their health history and their genetics, we want to look at the cholesterol number a little bit uh more in depth, but it really depends on your background. And what I have learned through the years is you really we've really been told that high cholesterol is quote bad, unquote. And we're kind of learning that it's not necessarily bad. You have to really look at the values and and see how much of the good versus the bad type of cholesterol, the HDL versus the LDL that we have, and then really, really have the um important conversation with your doctor or your functional medicine provider. Also, they have found that consuming the organic moringa can help with your endurance, um, your energy, it can help with your eyes, your vision, it can help to normalize blood pressure. Um, it's been found to help with a little bit with depression, and it also strengthens your immune system. Now I'm going over a lot, a lot of benefits. And again, I am not a doctor. I am just sharing with you what some of the research is finding on consuming organic moringa. So I would suggest you do some of your own research and really, really look into it. And I like I said, I'm really excited to have learned more and more about this amazing plant over the last year or two. And again, like I said, it's it's something that I've added into my my daily routine. And just to share and just do a little bit of an overview again, just a few reasons why you might want to consider adding it. Everything that I've mentioned, but this is just an overview of some of the the very important areas. Boosts it helps to boost your energy. It's a nutritional powerhouse. So I've already gone over all the nutritional benefits, which are huge. Antioxidant properties is huge, and the anti-inflammatory properties, that's really, really huge, my friends. And then, of course, it helps with our immune system. And like I mentioned, also it helps with the healing of wounds and it actually can enhance our mood. So when I mentioned it has helped people who maybe are going through some depression, it is found to help people with their mood. Now, I am in no way, shape, or form suggesting that someone take this as opposed to perhaps taking medication. If someone is prescribed a certain medication for something that they are dealing with, um, whatever that might be, whether it is a type of depression or diabetes or whatever it might be, I'm not suggesting you you replace it with this moringa. I just wanted to share with all of you the amazing benefits to this plant. If you are new to moringa, maybe you haven't heard of it, or maybe you've just heard about it a little bit here and there. It is a fantastic way to ensure you're getting so many nutrients, like I mentioned, 92. And it also is a great way to ensure that you're getting some of your daily greens. Now it's not your complete serving of greens, but it definitely helps with that, and that's another big reason why I consume it as well. And like I said, I get up in the morning and I mix my packet with a cup of water, a cup of cold water, and that's the first thing that I do in the morning, in addition to my my hydrate drink and my electrolyte drink. So I just wanted to hop on and share. Again, I'm excited about this. It is something that I'm incorporating on a regular basis. And if you'd like to know more, please feel free to reach out. And I hope that you have found value in this, especially for those of you who maybe are new to Moringa, look into it and really consider adding it into your daily routine and consuming it. And just make sure that you do find a very, very pure and potent and organic form of it. And again, if if you need help in that direction, I can I can certainly guide you. So, with that being said, take time for yourself on this day for your own personal wellness. And until next time, everyone, have a beautiful, blessed rest of your week.
