Feeling stuck in brain fog, low energy, or nagging pain that seems to come and go? We dig into why so many of us feel unwell despite “normal” labs and how simple, strategic changes can unlock real momentum. With Dr. Chapa—an alternative medicine practitioner with two decades of clinical experience—we trace most health breakdowns to three culprits: injury (including a leaky, irritated gut lining), malnutrition in a land of plenty, and relentless toxicity from air, water, plastics, fragrances, and industrial residues.

We shine a bright light on the everyday chemicals that quietly stack up in the liver, lymph, brain, and joints, then pivot to the four “brain saboteurs” that hijack clarity and cravings: artificial sweeteners, refined and partially hydrogenated seed oils, MSG and its many aliases, and high fructose corn syrup. Expect eye-opening examples—like what’s really in those fries and why “natural flavors” isn’t as harmless as it sounds—plus a smarter way to read labels so hidden additives don’t slip into your cart. You’ll hear why kids are especially vulnerable, how big brands engineer bliss points, and why the average person only needs 11 to 15 upgraded meals to transform daily health without culinary gymnastics.

We also get practical about detoxification in the 21st century. Even if labs appear fine, modern exposures demand intentional support: mineral-rich hydration, daily fiber and bowel regularity, cruciferous and bitter foods for liver pathways, movement and breath for lymph, and periodic, guided protocols to gently mobilize and bind stored waste. The goal isn’t perfection—travel and celebrations happen—but a steady rhythm of better choices that reduce inflammation, repair the gut barrier, and sharpen the mind. By removing the biggest saboteurs, cleaning up your home inputs, and scheduling maintenance detox, you give your body what it’s built to do: heal.

When you educate a person on why the body breaks down and educate them on what they can do to fix it, it really empowers people to feel a little bit of hope. But I've discovered people aren't really that creative. They're busy, they're stressed, they just don't want to mess with change, you know, and asking people to make change is difficult. But at the end of the day, guys, your health is worth it.

Three Reasons We Get Sick

SPEAKER_00

You love that. And that's uh definitely something that I preach a lot. And I know that we've been attempting to make this work. So I'm really excited that this is happening, and I know you're going to have a lot to share.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I, you know, 20 years into practice, I've seen quite a bit of things. You know what I mean? And so I'm, I'm uh there's so many people that are walking around today that truly just don't know what's possible. If you have health symptoms, I like to say symptoms that you were not genetically born with. You anything your body can develop, thank God, it can undevelop. And when given the right recipe, so to speak, we get the toxins out of the body. We restore the body with good vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids. We deburden uh tissues that are filled full of uh you know bioburdens, the body will turn on. You know, one of the things I was just sharing with some patients just today is there's really only three reasons people get sick. This is kind of an interesting, you know, nugget of thought is injury. So, like you can have a broken bone. That is a form of sickness. Um, and interestingly, tissues that tear apart, that could be in this case, the one that comes to mind for me that I work on regularly is the gut lining. And that we'll talk about how toxins can impact the gut lining and tear it apart, thin it out biotoxins from bugs or the excrement from bugs, parasites and yeast and stuff that will clog up our system. Um, and so essentially any type of injury like that. Uh, the second is malnutrition. You know, we live in a culture where we are living what's called the empty harvest, meaning we have a bountiful amount of opportunities to eat whatever, whenever, however, we want. We have uh the ability to transport things across state lines, we have opportunities to preserve things for months on end. But the reality is it's devoid of good, nutrient-dense real nourishment for a human to thrive on. And this is your earth suit, folks. Like we want to make sure people realize that you know, a body well fed is a body that can thrive. And then the third reason people get sick is toxicity, poison. They've been poisoned. And so we are walking around eating food to get poisoned. We smell air and breathe in air that's poisoned. We have you know toxic water that has been poisoned and or drink that's obviously sugar in laced with poison. So it's just mind-boggling that we are walking around uh with these three things sitting right below us to address. And if you have symptom patterns, typically I can paint it back to one of these three areas and why the body breaks down. When you educate a person on why the body breaks down and educate them on what they can do to fix it, it really empowers people to feel a little bit of hope. And that's what people really need to want. They want to know can I be helped or am I a lost cause? And I want people to know that you're not a lost cause. There is hope and there is things you can do, but we just got to change your game.

Everyday Toxins In Air, Home, And Products

SPEAKER_00

That's so, so good. And gosh, I'm so excited and happy you're bringing up those three areas. And it's so interesting because I have been sharing and speaking on toxins for years. And I for a fact, that is one of the biggest reasons we are sick as a country. I mean, that is one of the biggest reasons. And I always say whatever we can do that's in our control to reduce our exposure, because like you're saying, there's so many things we're exposed to, and a lot of it we can't control. I mean, we have to breathe air, right? And we think about all the things we are consuming that we don't even know about, or things we're being exposed to that we don't even know about. So, what can we do that's in our control?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you think about it, you you walk down the perfume aisle at the mall, and people get headaches, they get stuffy instantly, and they don't realize that there's you know phthalates in there, there's parabens and cosmetics. I mean, it that is a a f formaldehydes in the furniture department, um, flame retardants on the beds, uh, I mean, plastic bottles that people are getting into. And these are just everyday things that people are putting on their body, or they're breathing into their systems and being exposed to just day-to-day. Or they you just go to their house and they've got these plug-ins everywhere, or you get in their car and they got the little, you know, the Christmas tree hanging from the the rear view mirror. And this stuff is some of these are what's called forever chemicals. And these uh PFAS chemicals, forever chemicals, are very they're forever. They don't break down, they're designed to withstand all aspects of time and pressure, which essentially just means they have an extraordinarily long half-life. I mean, everything wears out, right? But the reality is, is I remember as a kid uh playing with like a little bottle of mercury. And today, I mean, that's a biohazard. Like, what in the world are my parents thinking, letting that be in the house? Well, for the time being, they didn't know any better, right? So that is something that has to be uh you know dealt with, or old pipes and old homes, old lead pipes. Um, there used to be lead in the paints. There's you know, VOCs in the paints that are current. And if you're doing a new home build, you're getting exposed to all kinds of industrial runoff, essentially. And your body essentially is gonna have to filter that. Well, at first, and I had this, you know, veterinarian tell me, well, there's nothing wrong with her son. He's covered in eczema, he's got allergies, he's tired and fatigued, and nothing wrong with his liver because his liver enzymes are fine. And I say, Well, 80% of your liver can be destroyed and never, Shelly, get this, never show up on a blood report. Your liver enzymes will not reveal it. So you can't just rely on the blood work alone. Now, understand, I that doesn't mean I don't run a lot of blood work. I love blood work, I love tests because it does reveal. However, when I see liver enzymes that are not out of balance, I just know the resilience of the 38 other trillion cells in the body are doing their job to buffer that, right? But that doesn't mean that there isn't a need for deeper cleansing, detoxing, in order to prevent this accumulated waste buildup in our body to cause our brains to malfunction, our hormones to get out of sorts, or our organs to, you know, begin to clog up and get run down. That's what wrecks long-term health. That's what creates you know acute symptomatology. That's what causes people to catch colds and get ongoing, you know, the seasonal flus whenever they come around, right? And and so I'm just I'm I'm like a voice in the wilderness trying to help people realize, man, do you realize just off the last you know few minutes that we've just shared those things, and you went around your house and you maybe got an air filter. Maybe you clean your air filters, you know. I mean, people probably don't even do that, I hate to say. Um, but you got all the good smellies, you know, candles out of your house. You got all the Christmas tree out of your car, and the and I'm talking about the little uh one that fumigates, and you've got you start realizing the plastic bottles and the cans and the cosmetics need to be addressed, and you start pulling these things off the system. These are just external exposures. What's really cool is you haven't even got me going yet on food stuff, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Right, right. And I I I this just gets me so excited because again, like I've been talking about this also for so long, and I know that you're probably the same way. I am even more sensitive now than I ever have been. And it's funny you talk about the little air fresheners in the cars because last weekend when we were traveling, my husband and I we were in an Uber and he had probably four of those dangling in his car. And I was like, Oh my gosh, I need to get out of this car. Smelling the chemicals, right?

SPEAKER_01

For sure, for sure.

Sensitivity Stories And Food Supply Concerns

SPEAKER_00

Then we were in a restaurant, and I could tell they've been cleaning. Like I I almost couldn't stay. And I went, I I said, oh, I said, they've definitely been doing some cleaning close by with some chemicals because it was was kind of potent. So you're you're so spot on with all of that. And I think that that's such an important message that the toxins we're exposed to, and then going back to one of the things you said earlier about how deficient our food supply is, the combination of those two just lend itself to to so many different illnesses and diseases. And so much of the time, I think people are confused as to why they get sick. And a lot of it points back, if not most all of it, to exactly what you're talking about right now.

The Four Brain Saboteurs Explained

MSG, Crave Engineering, And Hidden Additives

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So like I always teach there's I used to call them the four deadly food additives. Now I've converted them into brain saboteurs, right? So, like, what is a brain sabotage? I does anybody want brain fog? Nope. Does anybody want mental fatigue, mental processing speed, where you can't think well, you can't formulate your thoughts, you can't get phrases out, names, numbers, and words start glitching. You walk into the room and you go, Why am I here? How did I get here? Oh my gosh. Uh, I'm getting old. This getting old things for the birds, right? So, like we make comments like that, not realizing that it's really a sign that the body is storing toxins in the brain. And people don't realize it, but toxins are stored primarily in three places fat cells, brain cells, and joint tissue. So if you can't, if you've tried every weight loss program, it don't work, it's not because you're not disciplined, it's not because you're lazy, it's not because you're even, oh, I hate the word fat, it's because you're toxic. And if you got joint pain and arthritis, and you're which by the way, arthritis should be renamed. You know what we should call it? We should call it arthrongus, because there's nothing right as about it. And and and so if you have joint pains and you don't know why your knees hurt, why your ankles hurt. I had a lady today, she was complaining about knee pain to the point where she was like, Dr. Chopper, Dr. Choppa, I'm gonna get surgery. I'm gonna get surgery. I said, Stop talking like that. You just got to give it enough time. I always tell patients if you stick with it long enough and you follow through with the recommendations the best of your ability, you will get better. And today she came in. Uh that we're almost a year into you know care together, and no knee pain, not a surgery, no knee pain and no surgery. You see, moving pain, pain that comes, pain that goes. So you know, the pain when you wake up in the morning and your joints hurt, and then you get walking and you're okay. That's lymphatic congestion. That's liver not doing its job, that's the bowels not clearing the waist. And that's essentially an indicator that something's up. So I've this brain saboteurs, uh, whenever we start storing stuff in the brain, now we start seeing all these brain fog issues. So I call it the brain saboteurs because it freaks everybody out. Like nobody wants Alzheimer's, nobody wants dementia, nobody wants any neural degeneration, nobody just nobody wants to forget a face. You know what I mean? I get that. Um, and so the brain saboteurs are coming at us in at warp speed. When you go out to eat at a restaurant, there are these little packets on your table that they're blue, they're pink, and they're yellow. They are chalked full of neurotoxins, they are chalked full of chlorinated hydrocarbons, they are known cancer-causing agents. And so you cannot consume those things in your iced tea. You cannot put that in your drink. I mean, I don't, it's a mind-boggling that we put that stuff on the table on the table and let our kids drink it while their brains are developing, really. Oh my gosh. So those are called artificial sugars, the pink stuff, yellow stuff, and blue stuff. Everybody knows what I'm talking about. And so those things are known neurotoxins, known cancer-causing agents, and known chlorinated hydrocarbons and a chlorinated hydrocarbon, think of chlorine. Would you sprinkle chlorine on top of your favorite fruit? No, that'd be silly. And that's just the artificial sugars, right? And and I'll tell you if you put make-believe food in, the best you can ever have in health is make-believe health. And so we got to get people eating real food, real dense nutrition. So the second brain saboteur that your listeners would be interested in is going to be partially hydrogenated seed oils. So, probably a lot of people have heard, oh, seed oils, oh da da. Vegetable oil. People still cook with it. People still, every restaurant still uses it. Uh, canola oil, uh amazing. Uh, I call it con oil. It is not uh an amazing oil, it is a rancid oil. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna pull up on my phone because I've been uh one of my patients works at a fast food restaurant, and I've been asking him to send me the fried chicken and or the French fry box to see what the ingredients are. And so finally he uh sent me, you know, the ingredients, and and so yeah, first ingredient, potatoes. Okay, fair enough. The second ingredient, vegetable oil. Now, this is on the box that comes from the their manufacturing warehouse wherever they get their stuff, okay? Potatoes, vegetable oil. That's the that's the crap, that's the garbage. That stuff is not good for your liver, it's not good for your lymphatics. It clogs up your tissues, and so it contains one or more of the following extra oils: canola, no good, con oil, soybean, rapeseed oil that is rancid, by the way, 99.9999% of every soy crop in the United States is rancid. Rancid means bad, means rotten, means no bueno. You know, cottonseed oil. What we're not do you eat cotton? Come on, Shelly. You eat cotton. Remember, you remember the movie Elf where he's over there eating cotton? I love that movie. Crazy, right? Cottonseed oil, okay. Sunflower oil, okay. Well, that's a little tricky, but it's very volatile. So the reason that's not a good uh uh oil is because it's volatile, it's it's light, and once you crack it, it just essentially has a very short shelf life. And then corn oil, one of the most subsidized oils in the United States today. So essentially, with just that alone, the French fries guys at the fast food chains are garbage. You cannot eat that mess and expect to be healthy, it will wreck you. And that doesn't even include the the garbage oil that they're using to fry in. This is just the oil that they've already pre-done. You see what I'm saying? This is means it's fried and re-fried. That's kind of a it's a terrible. So now dextrose. Well, that's a type of sugar. And then you got sodium acidic phosphatase, so that's a type of MSG, to and and it also is a preservative just to maintain color. What? I shared this with somebody, and they were shocked that there was sugar in the French fries. There's, I mean, and and this is just one company. Every company is going to be very, very, very similar. And so you just got to recognize that partially hydrogenated oils, and again, these are brain saboteurs, meaning your brain will malfunction when you consume this stuff. Your liver will back up, your lymphatics will back up, your tissues will get inflamed, turn that means fire. And I don't know about you, but you know, my mom taught me not to play with fire. And so looking at these brain saboteurs causing fire in my brain is not something I want you or me or our listeners to participate in. I want you to be smarter than that. So education is half the battle. So we've got to get these things out. And if you're eating these things, and they can and do cause cloggation in your body, you have to detox it out. Some of these microplastics and some of these, you know, fake materials and preservatives lock up in your tissues and your body doesn't even know how to get rid of it. And so you really have to work hard at getting your body to detox it once you're exposed to it. And so that brings us uh, so we've got artificial sugars, partial hydrogenated oils, and then we're gonna get into the simple MSG, monosodium glutamate. This stuff, in and of itself, if we went to a country where there was a ton, a ton of that, like you know, the uh Japan or uh Guam or the Philippines, where they use a lot of this stuff, not in the way that we manufacture it here. Our stuff is manufactured high intensity. There's a reason chip companies make a guarantee. I bet you can't eat just what? One paper, right? It's chemically designed for you not to lose that that uh session point where you just continue to eat it and eat it and eat it, and then the next thing you know, by the way, your potato chips have all these garbage oils in it, and it's going to wreck and inflame your health, clog your liver, clog your lymphatics. And I'm essentially making a case that just with these three chemical compounds that are in every one of our foods, that are in our drinks, that are in our our toothpaste, they're in our gum, my goodness gracious, we've got work to do, folks. You know what I mean? We've got work to do. Boy, that's an understatement, right? We have a ton of and then my last favorite one, uh, and and uh I I wonder, do you know what the you do you have an idea what the fourth one might be? Just curious, not to put you on the spot just for fun. Um what would be the fourth one? High fructose oh, of course, corn syrup, corn syrup, yes, yes. This is the number one most worst uh sugar source ever. Like, what in the world did we do? This stuff here is literally poison. And how this ever got if sugar was introduced into our society today, it would be a controlled substance. But the minute you take it and you rancidify it up into this high fructose corn syrup, which is why we subsidize farmers to be basically have a whole cropland full of this stuff. Guess what? We have burned the this chemical compound into something that is sweet, but it will absolutely, it's like kerosene on a fire. It takes diseases, it takes diagnostics, it takes messes and inflammation up a notch, five degrees, 10 degrees, 20 to 5 degrees, depending on how clogged up the system is, makes everything worse. Now, of course, we know RFK is doing some great work with the dyes, and that's number five on the list. But notice, you know, the dyes unfortunately are a problem, but they're unfortunately not the number one problem, right? And um, and so we could obviously make a case that those five chemical compounds that are floating around our lives and our food supply and our drinks that we're letting our kids drink, or those little go squeezes, or even the baby food that the kids are getting into, we are wrecking health from the start. So no wonder we have so many people going into inflammatory land, symptom land, disease land, and we are losing the health battle. As rich as this country is, as smart as this country is, we are dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to eating real food. No offense, and God bless us. I don't mean that ugly in any way, shape, and form, but it's the truth. You know what I mean?

Label Literacy, Kids’ Exposure, And Marketing

SPEAKER_00

It's the it's the truth. And I I've been on this mission for at least two decades to educate and bring about awareness on this very, very topic. And ironically enough, it was when I first became pregnant with my our first baby, and she's now 27, that I I was always looking at labels, but I was started looking at them more intently. And that's when I went, oh my gosh, going back to the the artificial ingredients, the preservatives, the food coloring, I was floored. And then that was just where that journey started for me, and then it just continued from then on out. And I could not agree with you more. It's so important to get the message out. And interestingly enough, I have a masterclass on on toxins and I have a slide of baby food of how all metals that are baby food. Do you probably know this number? They have found over 200 chemicals in the blood of newborn, their umbilical cord blood. So when I first read that years ago, I I couldn't, even if we're trying to do things and trying to be healthy and trying to avoid certain toxins, there's there's they're still getting in. And that should not be happening.

Simple Meal Rotations And Gut Lining Damage

SPEAKER_01

That's right. And and and unfortunately, we have to help people just really just come to awareness that food is not just simply food. Like Bruce Lee said, a punch is not just a punch because you have to break the punch down to learn how to punch correctly. So being healthy really isn't as intuitive in America as we think it should, because it's we have all this food abundance. You can go to the grocery store almost 24-7 and get access to all kinds of things. The problem is, is what you're getting access to is you know, polysorbate 80 and kerogenin and all these different like excitotoxins like yeast extracts and hydrolyzed proteins, and and when you see these hidden buzzwords, natural flavors, you start, you don't you don't really question because you think, well, if it's on the shelf, it should be okay, right? And the all the reality is these are hidden disruptors, they're hidden hormone disruptors, excitotoxins to the brain, liver dec uh you know congestions. And when you start backing up your major exit channels, that's when it backs up into the blood. And that's why we're seeing it in baby cord blood. That's why now the babies are getting basically indoctrinated with this these chemical compounds in the most volatile time of their existence. So, you know, a fun fact, right? A child inside of nine years learns over 75. And I'm given a conservative number because I think the number is actually higher. I just don't have it exact, but I know it's higher than this number. But 75% of everything a child learns in their entire life, they learn inside of the first nine years. And people go, like it bends their brain a second, right? And and the truth be told, it think about it. The fact that, you know, there's shades of blue, shades of blue with blue eyes, the texture of blues, the the blues compared to the buildings in the background with different noises and smells. You know, if you're looking at somebody with a clean face or a hairy face with long hair, short hair, like all with the concept of blue. You know, essentially this idea that our nervous system is adapting, learning, and evolving at warp speed in the first nine years of life. Not that it isn't after that, I don't want to say that, but the Rand Corporation, Coca-Cola Corporation, all these major corporations do what really well? They sell good. They're number one bestsellers. And so what do they know how to do? They know how they're they know their market. So they market well, they study the market, and they discovered that if they can get our kids, if they can get you and I consuming their ketchups, their mayonnaise, their sauces, their drinks by nine years old, their cereals, we will be addicted to that brand for the whole of our life. It's just mind-boggling. It's mind-boggling. And so again, a punch is not just a punch. A food being healthy isn't as simple as just eating what you think is can. You really got to do a little deep dive and just do some homework. Because here's the truth the average American eats the same 11 foods over and over again. So if we all we have to do is learn 11 to 15 good quality meals, well, you and I know we could do that pretty easy. We teach this stuff. But I've discovered people aren't really that creative. They're busy, they're stressed, they just don't want to mess with change, you know, and and asking people to make change is difficult. But at the end of the day, guys, you your health is worth it. You know, it's worth putting in food without pesticide, it's worth putting in food without microplastics, it's worth putting in food without toxins that are leaching, that are causing your 38 trillion cells to misfire. And these, when we look at the gut lining, that when we talk about injury, when you put in just those brain saboteurs in your diet, what winds up happening is that gut lining begins to leak. It begins to open up, it begins to tear. Zonul, and clued, and active mine begin to break down. And food particles, parasites, yeast can penetrate across the lining and further create a whole nother slew of health problems. And this is just food. We have, you know what I mean? So, as you said, we'd probably have to do another talk to really dig deep and dive in and open up this can of worms all the more. But if we just walked away tonight with just those four items off our list, or maybe even if you want to go ahead and throw in the dyes, since you know our government's trying to catch up to that one, it's gonna take them a while, guys. Because remember, like you said earlier, they only got rid of the red. Well, what about the yellow? What about the blue? You know what I mean? Those are as detrimental as the others.

SPEAKER_00

And well, you figure it's been going on for decades, right? Decades. So, like you're saying too, at least they are making some headway, but it's it's it's gonna take a lot of time.

SPEAKER_01

And and it that's why for our listeners, for my audiences, and I pray yours as well, is that we're encouraged them to take the bull by the horns. Do not wait for the FDA, do not wait for the CDC, do not wait for the powers that be to tell you how to be healthy. Take advantage of shows like this. Uh, go to my website, drchhoppawellness.com. I got kinds of cool shows. And and I'm just educating and educating and and researching telling people what I've seen and practice for 21 years. You know, a lot of the material that I do today is not written in a book. It's not it, it's out there, it's in books, of course, but I didn't learn it in a textbook. I didn't learn it in school. I had to go and study with some of the greatest minds from your area in Cali, all the way to Florida, all the way down to my area, all the way up to Minnesota. I have covered the country, and I am very excited just inside of these domestic walls, how many great minds are floating around. We're all wellness warriors going out there and just being voices of reason to encourage people that it is your life, it is your health, it is your choice, and we want you to make a good one.

SPEAKER_00

Amen. And you're so, so spot on. And I I love the fact that here you are, you have your own practice, you are a doctor, and like you're saying, you know, you know this, but doctors don't get much training, if at all, in the area of nutrition, in the area of toxins. And so for you to go that extra mile and to take on that information is so critical. And I'm the exact same way. I didn't learn this in school. I mean, I've been teaching college for 30 plus years, but I had to find this out through my journey and on my own. And so it's so critical what you are sharing. And I so appreciate you sharing everything that you have shared with my audience today and everybody that's listening, because it I have said as well is like we it's now or never. We have to make the changes. We have to make some changes.

Take Control: Don’t Wait For Regulators

SPEAKER_01

And our kids need it, our grandbabies need it, the next generations need it. Because look, one I know we've got to wrap up, but here's this is a kind of a fun one, right? The Egyptians knew this. The Egyptians were dying, and they were dying in earlier and earlier ages. Well, they would say, well, it's because they didn't have medicine. Well, okay, but it's also because what grows in the desert? Nothing. So what were they eating? Grains. Now their grains weren't poisoned like ours, but the point remains grains as a staple in the diet is inflammatory in and of itself. They were having cardiovascular diseases, they were having diabetic metabolic challenges, and they were not just mummifying themselves for religious purposes, although, yes, they did. That was one of the reasons. But some of it was leaving remnants, traces of health for hopefully somebody to come behind them to figure out why they couldn't live past 50, why they were dying at earlier and earlier ages. And what was interesting is they started studying these uh cadavers uh out of the mummy worlds. And you know what they found? Cardiovascular disease. They found metabolic disease and they traced it back to the grain intake that they were consuming because nothing they didn't have access to the same types of resources that we have. And we are now polluting our resources so much that we've got to like be smart and realize hey, look, if there are health food stores in your neighborhood, what's what are they selling at the regular stores? You know, we need to use some good sense, right? Right. So just the power of choice and the fact that being perfect is not the end goal. I don't want people to never have fun and enjoy a little birthday celebration, wedding celebration, vacation. I mean, come on, you can't you can't go on a vacation and eat clean. It's impossible unless you literally eat out of your own bag. But even then, still, I could probably make a case that the food that's in your bag probably has been contaminated, which means, and I'll, you know, kind of shut it with this is this is why detoxification is such an important piece of the wellness journey. And if you're not detoxing in the 21st century, then you're missing a huge piece of your healthcare plan. And you cannot just rest on the fact that your blood enzymes are okay, your liver's okay, kidneys are okay. You gotta be, hey, great, they're okay. So let's push them a little bit. They need to be exercised.

SPEAKER_00

It's so true. And I'm so glad that you bring that up. And I think that that's something that maybe we'll have to dive in in our next episode because I know we're gonna be jumping on this again together because the the detoxification, I've been doing it for the last over a decade, and it makes so much difference. And I I still see people, and I'm sure you come across this, where they will say, Oh, you know, that's the liver's job. Oh, our bodies are meant to detox. Well, at one point, maybe in a perfect world, yes, but now no longer. It's no longer the case.

SPEAKER_01

That's 100%. And this is again taking the bull by the horns and realizing that, as you said earlier, um the docs of the day in the Western world are not taught nutrition, uh, they're taught medicine. And although there may be a place for medicine, uh, I have found in 25 years I haven't needed it. I've got herbs, I've got you know, new nutrient-dense foods, I got vitamins and minerals, I got programs to help clean out the system. And and every person that even eats clean, even myself, I detox uh often and always. Why? Because again, cleaning and maintenance our bodies is essential. And yes, you're right. And guys out there that believe that you know you don't need to do this kind of stuff, food should supply all the needs, but man, don't delude yourself, it doesn't. You know, even the good stuff is contaminated because the soil for which it comes or the animals that are eating from the soil for which you're eating your meat. You know what I mean? So, again, toxins are everywhere, you can't hide from it. So just embrace the fact that you got to reduce the four deadly food additives and the fifth, and you need to detox and you need to be intentional. It's good.

Detox As A Non‑Negotiable Practice

SPEAKER_00

A hundred percent. Woof. This has been fire. I can't wait to do this.

SPEAKER_01

That's good. I love it. I'm fired up too. You know what I you know what fire, you know what fire is for me? Maybe this will be you like to uh you like to end your shows with a wow statement, right? Yeah, so I had something else in mind at the beginning, but I'm gonna go with it since you ended on fire. Fire is filled inside with resurrection energy. Ooh, baby, that comes from the food we eat, that comes from the air, good air we breathe, that comes the rest we have, the rhythms of life, that comes from the Holy Spirit above for God Almighty to pour out healing and restoration on us all. We are designed by God, we are blessed by God, and we get to use this good thinking brain that we've been given by God in order to go out there and make a difference. So, guys, live your best, be your best, stay your best all the day long, and know that Dr. Chapa loves you.

SPEAKER_00
