Shelly's Shares: What Happens When You Follow the Nudge? Turning A Dream Into Reality
Doubt has a way of getting loud right before a breakthrough. Today we go behind the scenes, of putting on a live event and building the Moms Who Flourish wellness event: the hours of preparation, the last‑minute checklists, the concern of missing a detail, all the while being most concerned about touching the hearts of moms and serving everyone in the room. As Moms Who Flourish was placed on Shelly's heart years ago as a vision, a dream, now she was seeing it unfolding right before her eyes. "What does your dream life look like?" It was shared with the room with encouragement ~ what nudge are you receiving, what dream has been placed on your heart? Especially for moms, those nudges can sometimes be ignored, but it is there for a reason, ignore it no longer and take one, small step toward it!
We share the significance of watching speakers pour out their stories and expertise on stage, and why being in the room with like‑minded moms, entrepreneurs, and friends creates a different kind of momentum. There’s power in a room where purpose meets community. We talk candidly about why in-person connection accelerates growth and how to navigate shyness or overwhelm to claim your seat. Community multiplies courage. If you’ve ever felt intimidated, or too shy or too busy to show up, show up anyway and you will find your people or person, and will leave with one nugget or action you can take. We also share about the significance of mindset and self-talk, offering just small shifts add up over time so that you are fueling yourself with positive affirmations leading you closer to your goals and dreams.
This episode shares how the Moms Who Flourish Wellness Event blends wellness coaching and real‑life storytelling to help other moms feel empowered to ensure them that they are not alone, that we are all in this beautiful journey of motherhood together while taking care of ourselves and our health at the same time. We talk about purpose, faith, and staying the course even when moments may test us and various phases can be challenging but there is always ultimately joy through every milestone.
Whether you’re building a wellness habit, launching a project, or reviving a long-shelved dream, you’ll leave with a plan you can write today and practice tomorrow. If this conversation sparks something, share it with a friend who needs the nudge, hit follow so you never miss a new episode, and leave a quick review!

And I want to be fully transparent and say, yes, there were moments where I doubted putting on this event. There were moments where I thought, I don't know if I'm going to do this again. There were moments where I doubted myself. There were moments where I doubted what it was going to look like. And quite frankly, I know, I know that who's meant to be in that room will be in that room. But I also know there are so many more hearts of moms to serve. Do you get confused by all of the information that bombards us every day on ways to improve our overall health and our overall wellness? Do you often feel stuck, unmotivated, or struggle to reach your wellness goals? Do you have questions as to what exercises you should be doing, what foods you should or shouldn't be eating, how to improve your overall emotional and mental well-being? Hello everyone, I am so excited to welcome you to Words of Wellness. My name is Shelly Jeffries, and I will be your host. My goal is to answer these questions and so much more. To share tips, education, and inspiration around all of the components of wellness through solo and guest episodes. With 35 plus years as a health and wellness professional, a retired college professor, a speaker, and a multi-passionate entrepreneur, I certainly have lots to share. However, my biggest goal and inspiration in doing this podcast is to share the wellness stories of others with you. To bring in guests who can share their journeys so that we can all learn together while making an impact on the health, the wellness, and lives of all of you, our listeners. The ultimate hope is that you leave today with even just one nugget that can enhance the quality of your life, and that you will, we all will, now and into the future, live our best quality of lives full of energy, happiness, and joy. Now let's dive into our message for today. Hello, my friends. Welcome back to Words of Wellness. My name is Shelly, and I will be your host. And today is our episode of Shelly's Shares. And I wanted to hop in here and share a little bit about my recent Moms Who Flourish wellness event. And I want to start by sharing one of the exercises that we did briefly was I handed each mom a card. I have a group of their inspirational cards, is what I call them. And on one side there is a statement, and the other side there is a question related to the statement. And I'm going to share the one that I picked. And it says, I am creating the life of my dreams. And on the other side, it asks, What does your dream life look like? Describe it in detail. What's keeping you from reaching your dream life? And I shared that question with all of the moms in the room yesterday for all of them to really think about. And I want to share it with you all here today as well. I am not going to go in detail of what my dream life looks like, but what I want to say is I did have a friend, my very special friend Cheryl, text me the other day, and she says, You are amazing. You are following your dream. And for those of you who have put on events, you know that it is a lot of work and a lot of brain power and a lot of energy. And literally three days, the three days leading up to the event, I just was on overload with getting last minute things done and just making sure I had all the details in line of things that I wanted to have there for the day and the agenda and all the details. And so when she said that, it really touched my heart because this is something that was placed on my heart about three years ago. And I think I've shared that before in an episode. And it is a dream, it is a vision to build this community of moms who flourished. And I just have to say that the day was so amazing. The speakers all shared in such a beautiful way. What does your dream life look like? Describe it in detail. And what's keeping you from reaching your dream life? This, my friends, is one of my dreams creating this community for moms. And it is in the beginning stages. It is a work in progress. So many more. And I'm going to continue on this mission and this movement of doing that. And so I am sharing with all of you that if there is a dream placed on your heart, especially if you are a mom, follow that nudge. Follow that dream. None of us truly do. But if you just take steps working towards that dream, whatever that looks like, just start taking steps towards it. And I haven't completely reached my full dream with moms who flourish, the full potential of the impact that it can and will have. But I know that God placed the dream on my heart for a reason. He placed it on my heart for a reason. And and for that, for that, I I can't I can't stop. I can't give up. Because there's much more to do. And I know that now more than ever, especially after yesterday, and just how eloquently and beautifully the women who spoke shared their personal journeys, their personal knowledge, their expertise. I was just in awe of all of them. And I also want to encourage any of you, if you have the opportunity to be in the room with other like-minded women, moms, entrepreneurs, whatever it is, I encourage you to get in the room. Because there's nothing like being in person and being in community. And also I want to tell you, if you feel intimidated or shy or a little awkward about getting in a room, I want to encourage you to do it. Force yourself to do it because it will, it will make such a difference. It really will. Most of the time, we are the ones getting in the way, right? It's our mindset usually getting in the way. And yesterday one of our speakers, Adea, so beautifully shared about how we are speaking to ourselves. Because that's so important. I remember hearing or reading a statement one time. How are you speaking to yourself? Would you speak to your loved ones or friend the way you're speaking to yourself? And we get in these patterns of how we are speaking to ourselves. We get in these patterns and these habits. And so I want to encourage you to think about what thoughts are you putting in your mind and how are you speaking to yourself? Speak positively to yourself. And get in the habit of doing that because our mind is amazing. And what we speak into ourselves in our mind eventually we will believe. And so I want to encourage you to do that. If you're not yet doing that, think about how you're speaking to yourself. Be kind to yourself and speak positive, loving thoughts to yourself. And work towards if you aren't already work towards creating that life of your dreams. That's what I want to share with all of you today. So with that being said, take time for yourself and your wellness on this day. Start taking steps to creating that life that you dream about if you're not yet already doing that. Take time to describe it in detail. Write it out. What does a dream day look like? How would you dream about living your day-to-day life? Write it out and work towards that. I hope you find value in this today, my friends. Have a beautiful, blessed rest of your week. And I will see you next time on Words of Wellness. Thank you so much for tuning into today's episode. I hope you gained value and enjoyed our time together as much as I did.
